A bit of video from Sunday's range day

Sunday I had a few hours at the range with #2 heir. He brought his toys.... I brought my toys.... it was an excellent day.

Naturally we worked on various skills together, as it's always so much better to have an observer looking for ways we can improve. My boy is no slouch as a shooter, and it's always a good time when we pull triggers together.

This video is of one skill we visited.... gripping the pistol properly for accurate fire. I can't think about the subject without hearing Todd Jarret as Tam described him... "20% tighter" (GG).

The Boy is as bad as I when it comes to tweaking and tuning. Years ago I gave him an old Winchester Ranger shotgun, and in the last year or two he has made it all 'Tactical'.

And..... here he is shooting his 'Tactical' 12 gauge....... Lol.

And.... here am I with the same shotgun.....

I left a bunch of steel-case 7.62X39 in the snow all last winter up at my cabin - made an excellent test of which coating (lacquer, zinc or "polymer") worked best (lacquer, by a mile).
