Browsing a Reuters article on the prepper movement this morning, I was moved to read around a few interwebs spots this morning (Yes.. I said a Reuters article. That would be big media taking survivalism very seriously indeed).
So much of the prepper writings deal with 'bugging out'; hitting the (non-functional) roads, and surviving in the (Suddenly incredibly crowded) back woods (Behind the old mall on the West side I guess).
So little of the prepper writings deal with simple things like keeping the house warm when oil costs too much, being aware of home security, and how to keep the mice out of the rice and bean bins. THESE are topics that would have deeply interested those who actually lived through really bad times.
Maybe I need to start writing on the topic myself, if only to clarify my own thoughts.
