The things you find......

On my chore list today, cleaning out a few closets and organizing a few piles. One particular pile... this one.... needed doing something fierce.

This would be the ammunition back stock that I don't use too often. It's made up of both large cans of ammunition purchased when mil-surp is cheap, and assorted dribs and drabs collected over decades. The majority of the D/D's are handloads tailored to rifles I no longer own or use. I came across a 20mm can of 7.62x54 I forgot I had, so perhaps that rifle will see a lot more use at the military rifle matches this year! I also came across a 50 cal can of 12 gauge buckshot needin shooting up and replaced.

I count 19 calibers and gauges represented, with most having more than one type of offering. There are four different loadings in 30-06, several in .444 Marlin, five in .308/7.62, four in .243, two in 45/70, three in 22-250, two in 8x56r......... etc.

I don't have quite that assortment, but there are a couple boxes of oddballs in my cabinets as well. A half box of .300WSSM. A half box of Kleen-Bore (red/green remington) .35Rem. Three or four bags of .25-20 brass...

I consider it investing in future trades.

I got rid of all my oddball stuff about three years ago... :-)

I am a blog reader. I am always searching for new blogs to read and when I find blogs I like, I go back in the archives and read just about everything.

I can say that you have one of the best blogs I have ever read. I wonder if yours has ever been nominated for a blogging award? If you haven't, I am very interested in nominating yours. If you are opposed to that, please advise me.

Thank you for sharing your gift.
