Wayne Goddard's $50 Knife Shop has a section on creating a small forge for making knives.
Go for the Mythbusters leaf-blower hovercraft. With a forge on top.
How about a cars heater fan, as that they are DC and might be easier to control speed/volume of air?
Not sure how much forced air a forge needs, but how about a couple of car radiator fans (12V-DC, easily controlled & CHEAP! from your favourite recycler). Mount a suitable distance from the heat, & run 4" or 6" flexi flue pipe to the forge?
