So, I'm home this afternoon after an early start and a light nine hour day. The phone rings. Two employee's are at odds over their treatment of each other (In my opinion, both are at fault and need to pull on their big girl panties and grow up).
I employed a particular management style that seems to work for me.
I allowed both sides to lay out their complaints to me over the phone.... after which I said one sentence:
"Feel free to clock out; I will deal with this ... Tomorrow" and then I hung up.
Two minutes later, another phone call.... and the differences seem to be settled, with apologies for bothering me at home.
