Where I will be spending time daily, easing the aches and pains....

I are employed again.  Factory-ish work, running equipment, moving stuff, taking things over there, doing this... that....and the other thing too.

So far, it's more physically challenging than it is mentally, excepting the part where I learn to deal with less than exciting aspects of the job.  Shift rotation is involved, and they run 24/7... so I will be doing third shift at some point.  That will be an experience un-had since I was in my teens.  Overtime is mandatory during their crazy season, and means twelve hour days and possible seven day weeks.

Three bright sparks to the job..
  • Hey... I have a job!
  • I am responsible only for my own job performance.  Its the first time in many... many... many years where I don't tell anyone else what to do, and don't have to lead anybody but me, myself, and I.
  • My bank account has begun to increase rather than drop.... and that's a very good thing.
So far I am in the training phase, and will be for weeks to come.  There are quite a number of machines I will need to learn, and that is some sweet sugar right there.  This marks a whole new career, begun at the tender age of mumble mumble, and that is not to be taken lightly.

Ibuprofen, massage, hot tub, and a very LOUD alarm clock.  We shall see if I can do this or not.

I was wondering what had become of you. Now I know.

Good luck with the new job. Hopefully it's not too physical. That gets harder the older we get, but having a job is definitely better than being unemployed.

Rotating shift work can be a bear, because your body clock never really gets used to it before it's time to shift again.
