Another Scotch.... and a fine one

Dewar's 12 year old.   Oh My....

Dewar's sells some fine blended Scotches, and they are masters at that task.

This 12 year old blended offering is a staple of their line, and frankly just about tops out my palate.

You see, people have a point at which they can no longer discern differences in flavor.  We can all figure out a steak from broccoli  (blech), but 12 year old Scotch compared to 15 year old Scotch.... that's a different universe.

I've tasted some very, very good stuff, mostly thanks to fine friends who treat me better than I deserve.  That's given me an opportunity to punch way above my weight class, and it's taught me an important lesson.  I Have Limits.

So, I know that 12 year old, single malt or blended, is right about where my palate ends.  Older, and better, than that is pretty much wasted on me.  I defer, and leave those for the folks who can appreciate them.

Anywho, this Dewar's 12 year old is a fine, fine bottle for the price.  It's very tasty, carrying with it flavors that span a wide spectrum. Smooth, but with, dare I say it, 'gentle explosions' of flavor that evoke the history of fine Scotch.

Yep, I seriously recommend this whiskey. It's a helluva value at the price, and far outpaces many pricier bottles.
