Beer-Flu

Bloomberg opinion, with numbers.  Their scribbling points to a death rate 5x that of regular flu with 2x the spread rate... *best case*.  Then again, it is Bloomberg.

In the AAR, should there ever be one, I expect a LOT of pain to be visited upon some of our government run medical regulation institutions.  Very well deserved pain.

The American Hospital Association seems to be guessing at roughly half a million bodies.

One man in NYC infecting 28 other people?  Are there super-carriers, or just the conditions?

AAAARRRGGGGG!

Look, no one asked my opinion.  Regard this as little more than the voices in my head leaking through my fingertips.  Here's what I think about this, on the personal level.
  • Plan on getting the Beer-Flu.  Full stop.  Much like one would plan on getting a cold, or even the regular flu.  Plan like that.
  • Right now, this very minute, begin doing everything you can to boost your immune system.  Put down the crap that's bad for you, and get yo ass busy doing what's good for you.  Get Some Sleep!  Get ENOUGH Sleep!  Take those vitamins.... you know the ones in that unopened package on the kitchen shelf?  It's time to open the container.  Eat better food.  Drink less alcohol. Shower more often, scrub your hands more often, and stop snorking on everything.  Oh, and Get Some Sleep!
  • Only a small percentage of people getting Beer-Flu need hospitalization, or even significant medical care.  Check your situation and make plans to handle that should it occur.
  • The only effective way to slow the spread of Beer-Flu is isolation.  That's evident to blind moles hibernating under abandoned barns.  So... and this ones tough.... make a plan to hole up in your home for three weeks, with as little outside contact as possible.  That means money, bills, food, water, heat, meds, entertainment..... just think about every single thing you do or use, and make a plan to do that without leaving your home.

My thoughts, for what little they are worth.

Good luck.
