An open letter to Governor Wolf

If my school admin called me this morning and said they were defying the state, and opening back up to instructors tomorrow, I'd be there with bells on. We are one of only two of our campus's in the nation where instructors are not even allowed in the building. Never mind it's 100x safer than stopping at a grocery store, which are open everywhere.

Every other campus of ours has instructors in the building, working on trainers and curriculum.... but we can't. Thus, I am furloughed for no rational reason at all, with zero income to this family.

Governor Wolf, you have painted your questionable authority with a wide brush, and YOU ARE HURTING PEOPLE NEEDLESSLY. Your decree's lack rationality and finesse, to the point of being a sledge hammer at a cake decorating contest. Too many of your decisions are indefensible, and you react by hiding the data, sitting on your waiver list, and avoiding public questions like the plague (all puns intended).

Justify, if you can, closing down construction sites where people work far apart, but are allowed to go to a crowded Lowes and buy materials they are not allowed to use.

Justify, if you can, closing state controlled liqueur stores, while the pet store next to ours is open and doing good, and safe, business.

Justify, if you can, closing down my school campus to instructors, when my working there today preparing for re-opening to students would involve safely laboring alone in a large lab all day.

Justify, if you can, why you seem oblivious to the millions of people in this state you have summarily tossed out of work, and financially ruined. You speak of people applying for unemployment, but you never..... EVER..... talk about how many people are actually getting help, which is shamefully a much smaller number.

Governor Wolf, you reacted to a fox in the hen house by burning down the entire coop, chickens and all.

Governor Wolf, in a time of need, when the people in this state needed careful and considered leadership, you failed them.
