The thing is, reality checks like this are based on causing the party of the first part to feel shame, or at least discomfort. That's a fallacy, as most clueless media hacks are clueless about their own honestly and actions, as well as the reality around them.
Might as well badger a fish for swimming in the creek. It would be about as effective as this.
