That's a new word, learned from Herself. It has something to do with the state I leave her in.
Huh....
But, It really does a good job of describing my position.
I am out of work, furloughed, because the company I work for cannot operate the school I instruct at.
Yes, our Governor has acted the asshat with ham-fisted one sized fits all decrees that are killing business, destroying lives, and probably causing warts too. On the other hand, my school's physical location IS in one of the hardest hit areas of the state, and most of the students are drawn from hard hit areas too.
Yeah... so I don't want to get sick. Seriously, I don't. So, my confusion. By my standards and definition, I'm unemployed. Yes, the odds are the school will re-open and I'll be called back. But right now, I am not going to work and I am not being paid and the people I support are at risk.... I have zero income.
I'm supposed to be working, but I can't right now. If I could work, I might get ill because of it. On the long odds, I could die from it. On the other hand, I AM SUPPOSED TO WORK FOR A LIVING.
Still, I *might* get unemployment if the state unbefucks itself long to follow their own guidelines, and that would be an income. For a while, anyway. But what *Am I* then?
Confuzzled.
