It's a way of thinking....

$119 for the cart full.  Not spectacular, but respectable. Every single thing in that cart was either on sale, or had a reduced price.

Two cases of water, three bricks of soda, and a couple boxes of cereal bulk it up, but the rest is pretty solid.

Enough chicken and pork (not processed) for meals the rest of the week.  That includes a whole chicken to roast and country ribs for BBQ.

Fresh veggies and fruit for the week, to include corn on the cob, baked potatoes, onion soup, and salads.  Strawberries and bananas included.

Cheese and dairy, although I'll buy another gallon of milk before the weeks out.  Also breads of various kinds for the week.

Intentionally missing are any processed snack foods, prepared meal items, or empty calories like pasta.

Yes, I went up and down all the aisles, and backtracked a few times.  I also walked the entire meat case, taking mental notes, before going back and buying enough to just fill the little freezer.

You see.... at the moment I have more time than money, so it's worth investing the extra minutes to get more bang for the limited bucks.

Tonight, we feast on roast chicken and fresh corn on the cob!
