"Welcome to your job interview with the most prolific and profitable human space institution in existence today! Now, lets discuss the qualifications you listed on your resume. I see you have something called 'Astronauts Wings'? Is that so? Was this awarded by a government agency? Oh.... well..... I'm sorry to hear that. You see, we operate at a much higher level of efficiency and safety than any government agency in the world. We have found awards such as these usually mean a candidate won't meet our standards, in our experience. I might be able to find a position in maintenance though".
Somewhat like when I had a technician candidate in civvy industry who was fresh from Mil.Gov. It usually meant I had a good person who could follow explicit directions and would show up on time and work..... but who was experienced in MAYBE two or three specialized vehicles and was totally lost without detailed procedure and lots of simple diagrams.
Typically I would applaud their service, and ask how they felt about working on 10 different makes and models a day, usually with poor documentation and procedures we make up ourselves.
