13 days in. Staples out.
Surgeon folks say all is well, and it looks good.
PT tomorrow, and I will be asking them for two things.
1) Teach me how to properly walk using a cane. I'm riiiiight there where it's time to switch from the crutch to the cane.
2) Tell me what I can do at our local gym. Machines and all that.
One of the Ortho docs described the repair used, with the X-ray above as a training aid. This choice seems better in the long run (They classify me as 'young'). On the other hand, healing time is extended as there is no 'bone glue' used. I just have to wait for the bone to grow back into place. Ugh.
My unreasonable goal has been to be walking without aid at 14 days. So... to please myself, I'll take a short walk around the house tomorrow without anything but my ignorant stubbornness to help. After that, yeah... back to the sticks for a while. I still have a LOT of muscle to get back in place.
