Stew Weather
It's headed to the 50's, and so far has rained all day. In our book, that's stew weather, with a side of fresh baked bread.
All the ingredients are sauteed or browned off separately, and then tossed in the big pot. Covered to an inch deep with beef stock. After an hour of simmering, a half cup of Barley is added, and the seasoning brought up to snuff. It's done when the beef begins falling apart. Stir frequently, as the potatoes break down and thicken the stew.
Beef, cubed, chuck and bolar roast.
Potatoes.
Onion, sweet.
Turnip (1 large).
Carrots.
Green beans, fresh.
Seasoning involved chopped garlic, horseradish, kosher salt, fresh black pepper, red pepper, chopped rosemary, thyme, chopped dried mushrooms, and Worcestershire sauce.
