In which I double dog DARE.....
In 2017, there were 8.6 million firearm transactions that involved using the NICS instant background check process.
Of that 8.6 million people, 112,710 people failed the background check.
A prohibited person attempting to buy a firearm is committing a felony. 112,710 people attempted to commit a felony in 2017, and wrote out a signed confession while doing so. How many do you suppose were prosecuted, or even investigated?
12. Twelve people. Yes..... I said TWELVE.
In the US, 51 people a year die from being hit by lightening! A person is three times likelier to be killed by lightening, than to suffer the consequences of committing a felony attempt to buy a firearm.
For my friends who support restricting gun ownership in the name of reducing violence.... I challenge you. Call or write your Gubermint representative and demand they explain this failure. I CHALLENGE you.... I double dog DARE you.... demand that Senator Soandso explain their failure to protect your family from 112,710 confessed felons attempting to acquire death machines to use on your families.
If you can't manage to do that... stop yipping about wishing someone would steal my property on your behalf.
