Bangers and smashed? Whatev.... it's a plate of happiness.

First, go here and read this.

If you read that, you will understand why bangers and mashed have been on my mind since that was posted by RobertaX

So....

Here, we Smash our potatoes instead of mashing them. The way that works is... leave the skin on. Boil til soft, then smash with a big wooden spoon. Dump in fixings, a splash of milk, and stir enough til it starts to get creamy-er. If there's no big chunks, you done went too far. It has to be gentle smashing, with a loving touch.

These were golden potatoes.  The fixings today were onions sautéed in butter, lot's of black pepper, about three cloves worth of crushed garlic, and some dried parsley from the Amish store (could be lawn clippings for all I know). Also a big splooch of sour cream.

Varying from sanity, I dumped in a double cup of steamed cauliflower rice...because we have it... and what else can you do with that nasty stuff?

The sausage is simply roasted.  It comes from the local butcher.  I have no idea what he puts in it, but it's tasty.

The peas..... just peas.  Frozen peas.  Heat'em up in a pot with some butter.

Yeah, I know.  Simple stuff.  I could wax poetic on the comfort level of this classic dish, but Bobby did well enough there.
