I try to pay attention

 At the range.....

I suppose every public(ish) place has a mood, or maybe a flavor.  A little bit of each person there that contributes to the whole feel of the place. It could be an office, a class, or a restaurant.  Each person adds to the gestalt.

Lately, I've noticed a shift in mood at the range.  It's quieter. More purposed.  Targets are being moved farther away, heavier calibers are showing up, and suppressors are far more common. The targets are leaning towards silhouettes now.  People are buddying up. One on rifle, one spotting.

They are not talking much.
