"There's an old saying that value of paper money always - always - returns to its intrinsic value, the value of the paper it's printed on.  Pretty much zero.  Toilet paper?  The toilet paper is more valuable, but the fiat bucks will work.  The trap that the Fed finds itself in now is that since they've created trillions of dollars, every additional dollar they create is worth less than the one before it (called the marginal utility function).  That means they need to create even more trillions to really have an effect.  They can raise interest rates to try to crash the economy, but those are words nobody wants to hear.  Eventually - I can't tell you when - it has to collapse and the dollar return to the value of paper it's printed on.  Or the value of the memory cell in a DRAM module where it exists.  It's not actually zero, but it's in the same neighborhood. "

We will be using my wine for the wedding, because why not?  I Haz it and can make more.

So, a case each of Peach, Blackberry, and Cherry has been designated, and a Riesling is in fermentation near the woodstove as I write this.  It should be bottled within a month or so.
Being a fancy wedding in a horse pasture, it was decided wine labels are in order.  I made some.  Now, Herself gets to hand color each label in keeping with that particular wine.  All 48 bottles worth.

By all accounts, Putin's attempt to steal Ukraine is blowing up in his face.  Russia has been forced to purchase weapons from terrorist-supporting nations and initiate a civilian draft to refill the canon fodder ranks.  Not only has the Russian attack been turned into a rout, but now there is talk that Ukraine's forces won't bother stopping at the pre-attack border.  Seems there is a nice juicy Crimea there just waiting to be snapped up, much as the Ruskies did when they stole it for themselves.

The question foremost in my mind:  If this continues, will Putin accept the stunning defeat, or will he resort to hitting up his WMD stockpile?  Then again, given the condition and failure of his traditional forces, I have to wonder if there actually ARE working WMD stockpiles he can fall back on.  Just a few days ago his army had to report running out of uniforms because their quartermaster's reports were 100% vaporware.  How does that translate to a nuclear readiness system where everyone was certain they'd never actually have to put on a show?
