Have you ever had a dream that woke you up laughing?
So, there I wuz.....
In this dream, the world was freezing. We'd had months and months of straight Winter. Three feet of snow and ice everywhere you can see. People struggle to survive and deal with it. Homes with smoke coming from chimneys over snow-covered roofs. People shoveling and chipping ice.
Enter a man driving a smoke-belching diesel tractor, pulling logs.
Enter Andrew Spurgle, screaming at the man about contributing to global warming. Spittle screaming, jumping up and down, running after the tractor. Spurgle physically attacks the tractor driver, for a given value of pathetic physical attack.
Enter two police officers, who each take a Spurgle arm and detain him with no visible effort.
The scene moves to a courtroom where Spurgle is ranting about global warming, and a judge who has had enough. He orders Andrew bound and gagged to great cheers from the audience of townspeople.
Center on the judge finding Spurgle guilty of assault and battery, with a further finding of being a sad but violent moron. Once again great cheers. Then he sentences Spurgle to 24 hours of global warming in all its glory.
The scene moves to 15 miles outside town, in a whited-out snow-covered mountain pass. The court bailiffs pull Spurgle from a truck and strip him naked. They tell him they'll return in 24 hours, then drive away.
Scene.... a naked man jumping up and down in the snow, screaming "I am Andrew SPURGLE, and I'm never WRONG!"
Our view backs away to the mountain pass with a naked man screaming in the distance, and an avalanche beginning above the man. Through a glorious trick of echoes, the last thing Spurple hears before he's buried forever in frozen global warming are the ghostly words coming back at him: "Spurgle....Wrong".
