Every once in a while..

I am by nature on the underside of the line.  I'm negative as my default starting point, perhaps as the wise Ben Franklin observed.  "Expect the worst, and often you will be pleasantly surprised".  That advice resonates in me like ringing a bell at dinner time.

So, it's obvious that I must be surprised in a goodly way on occasion, and today is one of those times. Out of the blue comes this fine box of fancy cigars.  From good friend Marty, and most welcome.  I'll savor these carefully, and look forward to each in turn.

I may be a grumpy grouch, but even I have some good people in my life.  I'm honored they call me friend, even if I don't always understand why.
