One of my learned and favored techniques in rec-conning a vehicle for the used car lot was resetting all the various computer's adaptive strategies (after recording them, of course). This acted to reset it's 'biases' toward the vehicles condition and allowed me to better find any issues. It uncovered faults that were being covered up by the computers ongoing adjustments. It also very often made the vehicle run/drive/shift/sound better with no other repairs at all.
It occurs the me people would be better served if we could each 're-set' our own biases and labels every so often. It's like emptying the cache on a computer. Processes often work better and more accurately.
I ask a favor of my friends. Please set aside any preconceived notions you may have been handed, and reset all the labels in your mind to null. Analyze what you are being told... do not simply accept it. Assume nothing but universal bias, as is only human, and look beyond it for the reality as best you can.
