Snowpocalypse part the third, 6:00 pm

The neighbor cleaning off his barn encouraged me to turn eyes to our own roof. The only place I saw a problem was the porch roof, it having a lesser slope than the rest of the house, and less support. The question came.... how to rake snow from a roof I can't get to? Being a former boy scout (VERY former.....), I know how to improvise. We have bamboo growing on the property. Very tall bamboo......

A twenty footer cut down, and extra pieces for rake head and braces, I lashed together a snow rake. Lashing is a skill I learned many, many decades ago. I'm more than a little glad to see I haven't lost it.

Quickly enough, hundreds of pounds of snow began falling from the porch roof..... and directly onto the walkway we had already shoveled. LeSigh..... at least the roof won't collapse. Easy it was to shovel the walkway again.

A reward for all the hard work.... a beautiful sunset behind snow laden trees. Now for a relaxing evening, with a movie and wine in front of the fire. Gotta love those snow days.....

Glad to see you are surviving this natural disaster...We were about to do an intervention/send in the marines, but I'm glad that won't be necessary.
