If I am one of the smartest people you know, you are in serious freaking trouble!
Why PWM? an AC motor with a freq drive will be torquier and cheaper to run, unless the DC motor in question cannot be easily replaced. have you looked at ebay? Reliance Electric used to make awesome DC drives with a lot of very useful features.
Og, I have a 'go-cart' project I am working with some students on. It has a 48v 6hp DC motor direct fitted to a differential. It's what we have to work with. Any funds to build this monstrosity are coming from my pocket. I have to work with what I have.Besides, no one else has one, and it's kewl.
Try here:http://www.discovercircuits.com/P/pwm.htmThere's a lot of other info, but the PWM circuits themselves start conveniently on the page titled "P":http://www.discovercircuits.com/P/pwm3.htm
Thank you! I will check it out.
