A day at school....

.
Naw.... no one would ever believe it.

Anyway, we have some boys heading to competition. One on Monday, another a few days after, the same two a few weeks from now, five teams of two at another competition in another week...

How hard are we working? Oh, how can I describe this...... we have been prepping for weeks now. In the last few days I have given two of these boys a pair of state certification manuals, a binder full of special task work, and two large tests.... all to be done in a few days and over the weekend... and they said thank you. They have been suspended from regular class work and thrown at full press, non stop, diagnostics and inspections.

Why? There are serious scholarships on the line here. Life changing prizes. Job offers. Big time bragging rights.

Folks, I am physically, emotionally, and intellectually exhausted. Drained. Depleted.

It was a good day.

That's GREAT, Teach. Congrats to you & all the boys who are working so hard. I'm impressed.

How many consecutive years now, Teach? For your kids?

How long have the kids been doing this? Since September.

How long have we been doing competitions? Off and on for as long as I have been teaching.

How long have I been teaching? Ten years now. It might end soon, as admin bureaucracy has put me against a wall with certifications, and I may lose the career. We shall see.
