Someone once asked me about an inane cosmetic feature on a vehicle I was working on.  He asked where that crap comes from.

I replied.... "There are a lot of engineers and designers working for the car companies, and if they don't each do something new every year, then they don't have jobs.  Not something good.  Not something needed.  Just something new."

I am now convinced that's where most of our intrusive, overreaching, and idiotic laws come from;  lawmakers who need to do something, just to say they showed up.

Yep, rather than actually WORK to scrub the laws, they sit in the bars and come up with new sh!t...

It's said that when the only tool you have is a hammer, all your problems look like nails.

When most of your congresscritters are lawyers, the most logical solution to the nation's problems (to them) is new laws.
