Ceegars........

I don't usually buy the more expensive cigars.  Mine are typically about a dollar a stick, maybe half again more.  At that price level one doesn't expect a spectacular smoke.... just a decent workmanlike while-away-some-time on the patio smoke.

On the other hand, I am not above giving my rolled up weeds some 'help' in the flavor department......

Typically, I strip them naked of sleeve and wrapper.  Then they are layered into this particular humidor with paper towels, all drizzled with Bacardi spiced rum as the layers are built.  Closed up and left alone for a few weeks, the cigars infuse the rum flavor, and the alcoholic moisture swells the tobacco leaves, making the cigars tighter with a better draw.

As I said.... not $9 Padrons, but still a good, smooth, and tasty smoke.  Just about my speed.

Not a bad idea at all! :-)

I may well have to try that. I've rubbed a few with rye before putting them in the box, but the paper towel idea is brilliant. Preferred source for your cigars?

I usually order from Thompsons online.

Back when I smoked, I used to bring Cubans back from Canada when I visited. The big Churchills I bought tended to be a bit harsh, but I would temper that by putting apple or pineapple slices in the humidor. You can't leave them there for long, but a couple days of the fruit outgassing made the cigars very nice. Toned down the harshness some, and kept them at a good moisture content.

I have also used peachtree schnapps for the same reason.

I tried this with a tin of Macanudo Ascots (my go-to 20-minutes-on-the-steps stick) and Gentleman Jack.

DAMN.

Winner!
