Lovely day today, eh?

A happy accident in not following a recipe from a book (shudder) resulted in these 'mell -in-yo-mouf' (said with a mouthful) biscuits.

Shucks, I hope I make more mistakes like this.

In other news, unemployment came through from the state.  Color me surprised they managed to get it done in a timely manner.  Herself, who filed a week before me, has seen nothing yet.  That extra $600 a week being bandied about?   Yeah, naw.   Mythware.  Also, those extra weeks.... nothing but vapor.

Second time in my life I have drawn UC, and it feels weird.  Less weird than last time, as this is a government imposed economic crash.  Last time, I was just at ends waiting on an upcoming job offer.

To sum up, household income is looking to be a (shaky) bit less than 1/3 what it was six weeks ago.    That could last for 12 pay periods, whereupon it goes to nothing.... unless something changes.  I've been hearing of people having issues, like being kicked off and told to reapply.  We shall see what happens.

News regarding my employer; they have opened two campuses in Texas, and another four are supposed to open someplace this coming week.  Not completely open, but at least for lab work and such.  It's a start.

My campus, here in PA.... not for at least another month.  It's in Chester county, snuggled up with the five counties that account for more than half the virus load in our state (out of 60+ counties I think).

This five county region, is in turn snuggled up to the tri-state area.  New Yoyk, New Joisy, and Pennsylvania.... but only the over-crowded solid blue sections.  Not even this area is as bad as DeBlahsio land, where they managed to accrue 25% of the virus cases in the nation, and 30% of the deaths.

One very, very, very badly run city.... and many thousands were rewarded for their votes by untimely deaths and a defunct economy.  Nice. Hard to feel bad for them when they did it to themselves, but I do.

We are getting by.  Eating well. Managing to be social without doing the hugging and such.  Happily breaking Wolfenstein's rules whenever we wish.  He's managed to bring financial ruin on an entire state, but we'll get by despite his idiocy.

Somehow.
