Imaging software question....

I was a happy user of Adobe Lightroom, if that defines my tastes in image software.

Now, I am an old retired dude on a fixed income (if and when it ever begins actually coming in), and I cannot afford Adobe's PAY US PAY US PAY US rent-a-software business plan.

I need the old days, when I could buy a software package and actually sorta OWN it. I'd like to get back into photography, and image software is the only thing I lack.

I do not need full photoshop capabilities. Just cropping and adjustments..... plus cataloging if possible. Frankly, I know how to build a file tree so I'll happily do my own cataloging.

Oh.... it has to be usable by an idiot. Lightroom was just at my level, sad but true.

Ideers?

I use linux on my laptop. Linux has several "no cost" solutions that you might enjoy.

Following directions you can set your computer up to dual boot.

I use kubuntu (a windows like interface) but there a several good distributions out there (for free).

Whenever I want to find a program that offers an alternative to a particular program, I search the alternativeto website. I did that for Lightroom and there were 90+ choices. I see you don't like links, but I can't really send you to the website without one. https://alternativeto.net/software/adobe-lightroom/
