Electricity is going up.....

PPL just dropped an E-mail on us....

Your current rate: 8.941¢/kWh

Default/price to compare rate as of 6/1/22: 12.366¢/kWh

Dear ARTHYR,

Beginning June 1, the default rate that you pay for electricity supply will increase. We’re reaching out now to let you know about the change, give you time to prepare, and share some steps you can take to lessen the impact.

What’s changing, and how will it impact me?

The default rate (also known as the price to compare) is increasing. If you use 1,000 kWh of electricity a month (this is about average), your bill will go up by about $34.

Looking at our usage last month, the bill would have been about $45 higher under the new rates.

OUCH. That's almost $500 a year.

I'm certain it was inevitable, but.... OUCH.

I have this philosophy.... All humans are faced with a choice.

They can become students of human nature, trying to recognize the good and bad within themselves... or they can choose to ignore human nature, and act simply on drives, desires, and instincts. The former is what sets mankind aside from animals, and the latter is to act as an animal.
