How many can openers do you own?

Yeah, I know. Sounds like a silly question, doesn't it? I mean, can openers are everywhere. That tall warrior women company will bring all you want right to your door.

But..... what if they couldn't, or wouldn't? What if the local store you would go to is closed... or looted.... or burnt down? It's just a can, man, but do you have a plan?

Girl child is reaching for the thermometer. That makes 3 for 3 down with plague. Yahtzee!

Me? Oh no... no way.... Arty the House Elf is not allowed to be sick. He has all those chores to get done, and now servicing the sickies.

Phillip said...: We have one GOOD can opener in the kitchen (manual), a meh one in the camping supplies, I've got some P90s around here, and I have a whole workshop full of tools, I'm sure I could manage. It's good advice, though, I can't tell you how many people I've seen at Scout events (Be Prepared!) who didn't have some important piece of equipment because the one they brought broke or they forgot it in 'the other box'.; September 25, 2024 at 3:44 PM
Carteach said...: The thought popped into my head when I pulled our ONE can opener from the kitchen drawer yesterday.
I know have some P38's someplace, but I'd be hard pressed to lay my hands on one quickly. In addition I have several pocket knives with can opener blades.
The thing is, nobody in the house but me knows how to use anything other than the old crank-handle opener.
