I like the crunchy rice bits in fried rice. This has crunch in every bite.
Seems an interesting way to use up leftover rice. I'm not thinking of it as a main, but more base for a main.
After a bite each, Herself and I both said 'Under grilled skirt steak' at the same time.
- About 1.5 cups cooked rice
- One egg
- One sliced scallion
- One Tablespoon cornstarch
- One teaspoon fish sauce
- One teaspoon soy sauce
- One teaspoon rice wine vinegar
- One teaspoon sugar
- Aleppo pepper flakes to taste.
Spread on a hot (level 4) waffle iron and close it slowly. Set a timer for 12 minutes. Leave it alone till done. It's probably ready after five minutes, but I LIKE crispy rice!
Note: I meant to just try a few bites for flavor, but I looked away for a moment and suddenly it was gone.
