Tuesday random menotes

.
One more day done, one day closer to school years end. A couple good Idaho bakers are roasting in the oven, a simple dinner for a quiet evening. Chill rain drops are beating a staccato tune on the window, over a base rumble of the oil furnace working it's magic against the chill. Another quiet, quiet evening alone to relax.

Tactile testing students today for their State Inspection licenses. Tested nine, five passed. Tomorrow, another nine, and then another.... till they all go. Wish them luck, for they will need it. Too many have passed up the chance to work at earning their tickets... now luck will play a big part in their lives. So be it.

On another note, in the mail today came a Knoxx recoil reduction stock for an 870 shotgun. Something Blackhawk would like reviewed and written about on the blog. One day soon I'll mount it up to 'Ol Betsy and go play at the range for a while. Perhaps this weekend, maybe next. Interesting technology, even if a bit Buck Roger-ish looking.

Summer break is coming on fast. Soon I can sleep in till the grand hour of 7am, greeting the sun with a smile, more often than a snarl. So much to do, so much to see, so much life to live in just a few weeks of freedom.

First, this week must be conquered, and then the week after, and yet one more. It's so close I can taste it.....

Sixteen more days in my world, I can't wait.

My daddy was a teacher, ninth grade, poor blacks were his calling. He was the first in his large white, cracker family to earn a degree and he spent that education trying to lift up the unliftable.
