I'd like to point out... the man who has sole control over the US military, our nuclear arsenal, and all US foreign policy has been publicly judged mentally incompetent by his own administration and his political party.

And another thing.... It's been over 20 years since the US had a balanced budget, even if for only one year.   We are racking up a Trillion dollars in debt every 100 days, and there is no way at all that can be paid, ever.   We as a nation WILL go bankrupt.  The only question is how soon.

I'd like breakfast, but I'd have to make it which is fine, except the sinks are full of dirty dishes and I can't cook a meal with sinks full of dirty dishes staring at me and I don't feel like doing dishes right now so I'm not getting any breakfast.  This makes sense, right?

Damn!  The Harris scampaign is STILL sending me money-beg emails.  I wonder how that's working out for them?

The Brits are just shaping their society to match literature. Right now, they have chosen 1984, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, and Mein Kampf. Good classics, one and all.

Another frugal set of meals.   What we see here is beef tips in rich gravy, over baked Russets with steamed broccoli.

The 'beef tips' were about 2 pounds of cut-offs from a beef loin we got on sale.   They were browned in a pot in batches, and then removed to rest.  Into the pot went chopped onion, carrot, and celery along with a knob of butter.  That was cooked down fairly hard with lots of scraping of fond.

Into the blender, two quarts of chicken stock, a can of mushrooms liquid and all, maybe 1/8th cup of Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, Aleppo pepper, two heaping tablespoons of tomato powder, and a tablespoon of sugar.  Into this went the sauteed veggies.  Blend on high till smooth.

This rich gravy was them strained to remove the solids, and back into the pot with it.  Heat on high while stirring till it begins to simmer, and then thicken with corn starch slurry.  Stir till thick and coming back to a boil.  Reduce heat to low-low, and reintroduce the browned beef tips.  Lid on and let it get happy for an hour.

The potatoes had been baked early in the day when the oven needed to be hot for something else, and the broccoli was steamed in the microwave just before serving.

A lovely and heart warming dinner which pleased everyone.

It also left a fair bit of gravy and beef tips.  For tonight's dinner, all that will be blended, heated, and have another can of mushrooms added. This becomes a super rich mushroom gravy to braise Salisbury steak in, with lots of sliced onions of course.

Two night's dinners in a row, both rich and satisfying, and the poor chickens get no leftovers.
