Allergy sufferers....

I bought one of these in 2019, after the future father-in-law swore it was a life changer for him.  Okay, I know that man ain't dull, so I gave it a try.  I still have it, and use it when the allergies get bad and breathing is stressful.  So... at least 4 times a week.

The plan of attack is to pump saline solution into one nostril while sucking it out the other. Yes, this feels WEIRD the first few times.  The flow can be reversed by flipping the nostril fitting over.

Yes, it costs $100. Amortize that over years of breathing easier, less suffering, and being better able to sleep.  I'm on 5 years and two sets of batteries.

The real crotch kick are the 'salt pods' Navage demands you buy.  They designed this thing to only work with their $$$$ pods.  Inserting the one-time use saline pouch trips a couple dinguses that allow the widget to buzz into action.  No pod, no worky.  It works out to roughly 50 cents per operation if you buy them in bulk.  A big problem is when they ship you an iffy batch and only every other one makes the thing go.  That adds up fast!

Do you think a retired old tech instructor with more time than money is going to accept that?  Oh hell no.   Examining the thing with a mechanics eye, we soon see an easy workaround to constantly sending them money.  If anyone feels the urge, let me know and I will do a post on the subject.

Not having to pay for the pods, I instead use Neil Med saline packets, designed to work with their own brain blaster device.  Each saline packets is a perfect amount to mix with warm water in the Navage.  Yes, the Neil Med squeeze bottle gadget has a place too.  I use that in the shower when allergies are raging unchecked.

Right now I am doing the Navage twice daily, with good results.  I can breath, and that is something we too often take for granted.

For what it's worth, over the years I have tried most every OTC allergy med and several prescription ones too.  None worked great for me and most did nothing.   Mucinex is the only thing that even comes close.  The Navage head blaster though, that works better than all the meds put together.
